Great America August 26, 2007 By Eric [Zonga] Page 2 [Click on photos to enlarge]
And for the finale, not one, but TWO people got slimed.
Round two now of "Where's Waldo: Theme Park Edition." Let's see, is that you Brian in the Cosmo suit?!?
Call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed Grizzly! So much, I went on it twice! OMG!
I was really surprised at how nice the landscaping is in some areas. This lady was so not into the car ride.
"Funnel Cake Lad" was so totally into the car ride.
Now this I just found odd, there are all these, "Crew of Excellence" flags around each ride. I'm not sure if Cedar Fair is trying to kid themselves, but not one of the rides we went on had a "Crew of Excellence."
Another odd thing, Great America put enough effort into changing the names on all the Gilroy/Bonfonte Gardens signs, but didn't even change the Paramount sign at the entrance to the parking lot!
I leave you with this shot, which looks just like Knott's Berry Farm.
No signs of maze construction in the bumper car building.
Great America's employees need some serious work. Almost every single one mumbled, frowned, and went very slowly.
When we first arrived at the park, we waited in a long line at the turnstyles. When we get to the front of the line, the lady
just says, "Next line." She then closed the gate and sat there. She didn't leave, she just sat there. Props to her for having
the guts to close a line then do nothing.
Vortex recieves the prize for being the worst coaster experience! The line had trash, gum everywhere, and no shade. The station
is just a platform with a six foot wooden wall, no roof.
Every single trash can in the queues where full at 11 am, clearly they never unloaded them.
Finally, the park will be having fireworks on September 2nd in honor of Labor Day.
That wraps up our Knott So Great America update! Of course the park will be ending daily operation before Labor Day,
which is so un-American.
