Six Flags Discovery Kingdom October 27th, 2007 By Eric [Zonga] [Click on photos to enlarge]
The final weekend of October is here which means Fright Fest is coming to a close.
An under-lighted photo goes quite well with an under-funded Fright Fest. Let's just hope Holiday in the Park is going to be an event to remember.
Since the park was absolutely packed, we decided to watch the Halloween Sea Lion show. Overall a fun show, perhaps a little long though.
We never ended up going in the mazes, $10 plus at least a 45 minute wait...no thank you. This is also a good chance to point out the shameless advertising for Geico. There were about 10 banners throughout the Go-Karts, a huge banner on Roar, and random banners throughout the park.
After giving up on the mazes, we just wandered around the park.
The Explorer Outpost is one of the many buildings that is advertising Holiday in the Park, opening November 23rd.
The night was coming to a close...
...but we couldn't leave until we saw THRILLER. Thanks for stopping by, the moral of this update: Never visit a Halloween event the weekend before Halloween! The park was packed, just people everywhere. I'm not sure that the park and the patrons can really handle these night time events.
It was the same with the 4th of July, a lot of police and a lot of loitering. Some massive weights have been placed in the entry plaza in order to anchor down the huge Christmas tree
that should be arriving this week. A special thanks to engineer Kevin for a "smooth" ride on Thomas the Tank Engine! Props to Captain Lee for getting the Dip-N-Dots stall moved. Let's all cross our fingers that Holiday in the Park is much better than Fright Fest this year! |
